SCDS parents help out with all aspects of school life through our parent volunteer organization, Country Day Parents (CDP). While our families have varying schedules and lives and volunteering is not a requirement, it is one of the best ways to get involved at our school. All parents who wish to participate are welcome, and there are numerous volunteer opportunities available from sorting used uniform donations to chairing our annual fundraiser. Our focus is on matching parents' time and talents to our students' needs.
Some of the ways our parents get involved include helping teachers in their classrooms, working in the garden, hanging and taking down artwork, bringing treats for the winter concert and various other celebrations, shelving books in the library, running the sports center snack shop, staffing stations at our bubble and states of matter festivals, and bringing cultural heritage and/or professional expertise to the classroom. CDP also takes care of some behind-the-scenes support, including driveway signs that help us communicate, planning the spring auction fundraiser, coordinating room parent classroom support, and serving as directors and officers on the CDP board.
