Whether you are a child, an adolescent, or an adult, belonging to a community has never been more important than in our busy and hectic modern world. At Sonoma Country Day School, our families and staff place tremendous value on education, but they also understand that it is the ongoing partnership between students, parents, teachers, and administrators that allows us all to experience the enormous benefits of learning, growing, and sharing together.
Deep learning only happens when students feel safe - physically, intellectually, and emotionally. Cultivating a supportive and caring community that enables students to take risks in their learning and push beyond their known abilities has been a priority for SCDS since our founding in 1983. Housing ten grade levels on one campus fosters a culture where siblings can stay together longer, families develop long-term relationships with the school and each other, and our oldest and youngest students inspire and contribute to each others' development.
Engagement with the SCDS community does not end upon graduation. Our alumni and alumni families are active SCDS parents, board members, volunteers, and event attendees. We take great pride in maintaining connection with our graduates, inviting them "home" for annual reunions, and watching them live out our mission and guiding principles in their own communities across the globe.
